Hey guys, my recently purchased A4's check engine light came on. I brought it to the auto parts store and had them scan it. This code came up:

DTC (Codes)

P0431
Warm UP Catalyst
Below Threshold
(Bank 2)

Now i dont exactly know what this means, has anyone had similar problems. I think it has to do with the second O2 sensor. thanks in advance.

sorry 2002 A4 3.0 auto

 

check list for this code is catalyst on its way out - wiring short to HO2 ( heated O2 sensor ) - heated O2 sensor,

other point is was the car up to temp when they did the test?? if not its normal to get that code so clear it and get the engine nice and HOT before its checked again

 

yes car was up to temp

 

next get the emissions checked this will confirm if its the catalyst ( a test is cheaper than the cat ) then we start looking at other cheaper problems
