Check Engine Light Update....

Today while I was at work my wife carried the 2001 A4 to Auto Zone to get diagnostic test done. They said it was a "vacuum leak". Anyone have experience with this problem? What should I check first?

Yeah I had a vacuum leak about 6 months ago. It was a hose going to my DV

if you have some cash, you could bring it to a garage and get them to perform a "leak test". They use a smoke machine to find where its leaking.

There are a number of grey/black valves that deteriorate often and need replacing. I've had to replace three on three of my Audis. The ones next to the air box on the firewall side seem to go the most often.

Post the codes that were found and it could be narrowed down a lot better. A lot of the time, the people at auto part stores don't know anything about European cars.
