Check this out....
This happens on Highway 17 in Mississippi, where the cell phone reception is **** poor and it takes at least an hour to get anywhere.
I'm accelerating uphill and on a turn -- at around 90mph. All of a sudden my back right tire losses traction and the car almost fishtails (I drive a quattro), but quickly recovered. All of a sudden you can hear the tire (which had blownout) start to tear up the inside of my wheel well. So, I immediately pull over and check it, fix some of the lining in the well and try to change the tire with my two friends who were in the car with me.
But I couldn't get the lugs off. Really strange. So, after trying to get the lugs off I call Audi Roadside and they send out a wrecker service to put on the spare. After sitting there about 3 hours the wrecker service arrives and can't get off the lugs either. Even their airhammer couldn't budge the lug nuts. Turns out that the Audi dealership had tighten the lugs so tight that the wrenches weren't losing grip, but they were litteraly grinding down the steel and rounding off the nuts.
So, we call a towtruck at about 1AM (we got the flat at 6PM). After fighting with Audi for another hour about where the towtruck would take us we finally talked them into allowing us to drop the car off at the house. I'll deal with Audi to fix the problem tomorrow.
That just sucked. Missed the party.
