Default which chip???

i recently got a 2002audi a4 1.8t quattro... 45,000miles, new clutch(last one was pretty worn), and someneeded electrical replacements... i would like some more power and have read that the chip is the right way to start...

my question is APR, GIAC, or NEUSPEED chip??... please describe in as much detail the gains and drivability whether it be daily driving or pushing the car...

also anything else to accompany the chip... right now i have about $1500 to spend (canadian) so about $1200-1300 american.. . thanks

I would get the APR stage 1+ chip with TT225 injectors. With that you will need a new diverter valve... either the 710n or a forge 007(or anything other trusted brand for that matter) This will cost you $500 for the chip, 500 for the injectors(if you buy them through APR) and between 35 and mid 100's for the diverter valve. Right within your budget...

"Stage I+ ECU Upgrade Stage I+ software, along with larger fuel injectors, provides even more horsepower and torque, raising the output to 235 and 275, respectively. While not an extreme upgrade, the Stage I+ gives the A4 a bit more performance without sacrificing drivability or smoothness. For optimal results, our cat-back exhaust system is highly recommended with the use of the Stage I+ system."http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/ecu_upgrade_8ea418t.html
As long as you keep service you car properly and let the turbo cool down after you drive hard you car will be as reliable as it was before. It is defnitely still a daily driver... just a more fun one. You will gain a lot of low end torque with the chip.. and add to the high end to by adding the injectors. It will feel like a new car. Everyone recommends getting exhaust with the stage 1 + injectors, so if you never plan on adding exhaust it might be better for you to skip the injectors and just get the Stage 1.

with that amount you can do a lot of different things

If I had around that $$ I would go to G-Popshop.com get my K03 rebuilt to K04 Spec cost $425 + $25 S/H

AWEtuning.com get K04 software - you'll need to call them - $600

New DV - 710n is just fine $35

Custom Exhaust - might have to go over your original amount by a couple hundred by the end

I heard that the APR chip is best for B6. there was a show on the speed channel, if you have comcast, and they were making a stock B6 the best they could and they chose APR. So, thats what I think you should get. Plus I have an APR chip on my B5 and I think it is worth the money.
