chip question

i just bought my car in oct. now im wonderin if it has a "chip"...how do i find out if it does have a chip....i know throught the cruize control buttons but if its an apr and its locked out on the stock program how would i know???

ShaodwMav,

if you are relaly in a bind, find a friend or dealer with the same year 1.8 as you and drive that. the difference of the chip is night and day...

i'm sure there is a better way to tell though.

hook up a boost gauge, if at fullthrottle it goes anywhere above 7 psi, you are chipped...also should be around 17 lbs of vacuum at idle....maybe more-maybe less. chip varying.

Good ****!!! Y dont you check the revs dont the apr chips up the RPM and top speed

well when i acc. hard it hits like 11psi...when i let off the "go" pedal it drops to 7 than down to zero.......no neg psi reading.....

No neg PSI reading? Do you have a supercharger boost gauge without vac readings?

Either way, 11psi on an 01...you're stock.
