chipped ecu?

Default chipped ecu?

what what it mean to buy a chipped ecu? Does that mean you can just have it installed and ur all set? what is the difference between that and just buying a chip for ur ecu? would you recomend buying a chipped ecu?

there are two kinds... the ones you solder on (like GIAC) or the ones that are direct ODB2 port flash (REVO/APR)... i think your talking about the solder-ons.

I like chips and salsa.

A chip will remap the ECU to give you better performance gains such as acceleration, hp, etc.

Basically you are optimizing the ECU for peak performance.

GIAC, APR are probably the leaders in the Audi chip market. Do some searching on those terms and you will find tons.

a chip remaps your fuel, timing and boost if its a 1.8t. There are chips for a 2.8 too. Give details about your car when youre asking performance related questions. And use the search... I beleive B6's use the OBD port for flashing, but with a B5 flash, they have to take your ecu out for bench flashing. If its a pre 2000/DBC, they take your ecu appart and solder it in.

My bad, I wasn't very clear with that. I saw your sig and that's why I threw in my chips and salsa comment.
