From my reading it seems it varies from dealer to dealer whether they will do warranty work for chipped cars.

Best thing to do is call your dealer (or better yet, independent audi certified mechanic) and ask if they will do warranty work for chipped cars. Might want to get it in writing?

I would go for 93 and 100 octane settings.

I was honest and talked to the guys at the dealer, told them what I was going to do, they were cool. I got warrenty work done a couple of weeks ago no questions asked.

Alright I cold called my dealer this morning and spoke with the service manager. I asked him about chipping and he told me flat out that if they spot a chipped car they will void my warranty for the entire engine and possibly other parts of the car. He then went ahead and told me they can tell whether a car has been chipped but he didn't go into details. I don't mean to make this guy out to sound like a jerk, as he was actually trying to tell me this in the nicest way possible, but it's not exactly what I wanted to hear.

While I am definitely leaning to not having my car chipped right now I am still curious...
If I just get my ECU flashed with 2 programs (the 93 octane & stock programs) and I switch it back to stock everytime I take my car in, how can they tell? They can't right? The 93 octane program doesn't even show up on a VAG diagnostic right? Also, do all 3 makers (REVO, APR & Giac) have the ability to flash or are just some chip only?

Every dealer is different - don't assume that because your dealer allows it, that someone else's dealer will be fine with it.
And please DO NOT mention names of any dealers that are fine with chips. Just thought I'd mention that.
