no they don't make scratches if your careful. Usually when I take mine off for the summer I will have some dirt/fade marks for a week but they go away after a wash or two. But the biggest thing is make sure to put mount them where the little arrows are on your car seal.... don't put them on to tight ether or you will crack/break a seal...

Get a Thule or Yakima Rack.. Expensive but well worth it.

Yeah agreed, go with Yakima if you can, Thule also makes a good product. . .

I just took my snowboard racks off a few days ago,I have a Yakima set-up which has the rubber feet for the Q-towers,and this is usually about what you get at the end of each season, but the marks buff out for the most part:

I've got a Saris rack (nobody ever mentions Saris!) and it's never done any damage. Make sure you're always mounting them when the contact patches are clean (some wax wouldn't hurt, either). As long as they are clean, and you mount them properly and tight enough, you'll be fine.

Look into Saris, though... They look better than Thule and Yakima, that's for sure. And as far as functionality, they are awesome.

definately pretty sweet looking though!

I used to sell Saris and it's an *OK* system but not as strong or as durable as Thule or Yakima. Saris is cheaper yest but I would not trust my paintjob to it. Think of it this way. If you have an Audi then you have some sort of appreciation for cars. And, seeing as how you pay good money to drive it, fix it and maintain it, it only makes goos sense to get arack system that won't damage your car.

Cheers
