Default Clicking sound

Hello! Quick question. 01 A4 Quattro 1.8 t When I left off the gas and then step on it again there is a slight noise from somewhere in the car. Sounds like a click or clunk hard to explain. If ya have some time feedback would be great. Not sure if the b5s are drive by wire or cable - haven't looked.

Thanks!

Standard or Auto?

You may have a broken motor mount or trans mount. At least that would be the first thing id be checking.

Have a friend rev the car while you look at the motor to see if it has excess play. Then have them put in gear while you watch. (make sure you trust them so they dont run you over) Then do the same for the trans mount.
