Recently, I have noticed a screeching noise from under the glove compartment whenever i would turn the climate control on. it sounds like a belt from the motor. after about 30 seconds, it would calm down and I wouldn't hear it any more. Today, i've noticed when i turn to air circulation button on, the little light goes off in a matter of a second. Something is definetly wrong and I was wondering if you guys knew what it is and how I can fix it. the air circulates fine through the vents and the noise only occurs in the morning. i have a 2001 1.8T

 

I have a 2001 1.8 T and have that exact same problem...
