Climate Control problem

Climate Control problem
I have a '96 A4 1.8 with climate control. When the temp in the car is set to cool, the air coming from the centre vents are cold but from the side vents is lukewarm. Has anybody else had this problem or any idea what it might be? The dealer had the car for days and the only thing he could come up with was that the ignition switch was faulty and did not open the temp control flap. It was replaced and made no difference!

RE: Climate Control problem
Hey Suachris, welcome to the forum.
The temp regulator flap is usually the problem for cold air.
See if you can't pull a diagnostic trouble code from the climate control:

I think you have to pull the dash out to get to it, so it's no easy chore. I don't have my parts catalogue handy so I can't get you a diagram at this moment. I can get it to you when I get off work tonight.

Did you ever get that diagram? I'm having a problem with the heater blowing cold air. I know the heater core is hot and water is circulating. I'd like to see how to get to the temp regulator flap of the motor that controls it.
