Default Clutch/Flywheel decision

I plan on getting the ATP GT2X kit soon (hopefully next month). So with that in mind, I was wondering what your opinions were towards clutches and flywheels. I basically found 2 options to go off of.

A- AWE Stage 2 Clutch Kit w/Flywheel rated at 300hp/300ftlbs for $1,000

B- Flywheel from ATP ($300) with PES stage 2 kit ($459) rated at 375hp/375ftlbs for a total of $759

I know it seems like a no brainer looking at the numers, but any comments would be appreciated.

I'd go with SPEC or Southbend. Most people on here with turbo upgrades use Southbend's DXD I beleive. I personally am gonna go with SPEC mainly because I live really close to them.

i have a spec stage2 and like it a lot. i am not pushing anywhere near the hp rating it could take. how much hp are you going to be geting after the turbo kit. if it anywhere near the hp specks of a stage 2 i would get a stage 3.

After snooping around and a lot more reading, I'm going with the Southbend SS OFE rated at 450.

Default SPEC stage 2 works well

I'm running the SPEC stage 2. Huge difference from stock! Now I don't have to wait an eternity for the rpm's to drop to make a smooth shift. Engine revs much quicker. I'm running around 220hp. No problems with slippage.

Do you have the flywheel too NoFlyZone? I assume so since your engine revs much faster. If so, what kind of performance difference could you tell? How difficult is it to drive? And are the gains in performance worth the burden more difficult driving?

I've ran 7lb flywheels, not in an audi but if you have a 1.8T it will defenitly make up for it. The turbo will spool faster and you'll have better overall performance. I found it fairly easy to drive. Sometimes you need to ride the clutch a little.

7lb is to light, ur 0 to 60 time will drop but ur 1/4 time will raise. Most audi racers are using 12pd flywheels.

Oh, I'm not saying put a 7lber on an Audi.

I had it in my civic, it was faster thn my original intentions so I got a lighter flywheel since Honda's lack in the torque department it was an improvement.

10-12lb is probably ideal for a 1.8t or 2.8.
