clutch problems on my 97 a4 1.8t
my clutch goes completely to the floor and doesnt go into any gears.. i heard it might be just my clutch fluid? but i cant find where that would go.. i looked under the hood and all the fluids were full.. maybe im missing it?.. i dont think my clutch is shot because there was no slipping involed.. the pedal feels waaayy to loose now like something snaped so maybe im thinking the fluid is low.. anyone with the same problem or knows what im talking about please help me.. im not trying to spend maddd money on a new clutch juist yet.. peal

Brake fluid resevoir is up by the windsheild.
Its possible its fluid, but it sounds like a bigger problem. Not necessarily the clutch though if your pedal is really loose. Possibly sheared a pin on the clutch pedal? Otherwise I am guessing you have no hydraulic pressure in your system, but then you should see brake fluid under the car somewhere after you pump the clutch. Start snooping around and let us know what you find.

RE: clutch problems on my 97 a4 1.8t
hey guys, i'm having the same problem except my brake fluid is still full and there is no leak what so ever. the clutch was stuck to the floor one day when i was driving on the freeway and so i had to pull it out with my foot and now it has a very loose feel to it, like there used to be a sprign in it and now its broken. I can't shift into any gears so i had to drive my car all the way home in 1st gear. the only reason why i got my car started in the first place is because my car used to start without the clutch being engaged so i was lucky enugh to be able to start the car after this happened and drive it all the way home. i'm reading things like the slave cylinder but i would like to know what i could do to try and fix the problem in the cheapest possible way (ie. fluids) before resorting to the more expensive repairs. would changing the brake fluid be a potential way of fixing this problem?
