Default Code P1128...help

I have a 2000 A4 1.8T with a CEL burning a hole in my forehead. Code P1128 appears. What to do? I replaced the O2 sensor... still there... I pulled out my MAF sensor and it looks good... but how am I supposed to know if its bad.... is there a way to tell visually? Should I just spend the $50+ and buy a new? I did realize that the air filter was long overdue for a change. So I will replace that. But im sure a simple filter change wont get rid of the CEL.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Chris

did you clear the code and it came back? or did you just repair everything and expect it to go away

I actually had 3 codes and changed the O2.... cleared them... now i only have one code that came back.....which is the P1128...

and now for the hose leak??? how would i go about fixing that... finding the right hose(es) and then changing them (easy?) and of course how much $$.

thanks again for the help...

I bet the P1128 code is because of a bad MAF.

interesting theory there but only one problem ( the MAF is doing its job ) plus the MAF has its own code but not to say it isn't the MAF though,

check any hose/vacuum line for splits regardless of where they are

what is your vacuum reading at idle inHG? If you have a vag-com look at your block 032 at idle and post the readings...to tell if the maf is bad, either do a wot run, in 2nd would be find and log your air mass in g/s...you can also tell by unplugging the maf, if the car still feels the same way when it is plugged in, = bad maf....could you list the codes that were cleared after you replaced the o2 sensor...your possibles are vac leak, maf, fuel filter... seems like from what you said, its a bad maf... how many miles on the car and what mods?

i'll check the hoses and let you know what i come up with..
is there any trick in doing that ... or should i just look at them for obvious flaws/cracks?
