Colour Coding A4
Hi,
I'm thinking about colour coding my 2002 A4 TDI. It's silver.
I've always hated the black surround that runs around the car, under both bumpers and the skirts.
The back bumper is straight forward to mask off, the front bumper is a little more complicated. Both can be painted on the car.
My trouble is painting the sills and the bit of the black strip running along the bottom of the doors.
I was debating how to go about painting these and I was wondering if any of you have done this.
My options were
1. Take off the doors and remove the black strip to paint seperately, then just straight mask the skirts.
2. Take off the skirts completely and paint them seperately.
3. Leave all on a try and mask around the doors, quite awkward.
Is it a big job to remove the side skirts off the car without removing the doors? Or is it a big job to remove the doors?
Cheers,
Adrian.
