Default confused... how bout diode mod with K04???

Hey guys, I've done my fair share of searching and reading and I'm still kind of confused about the K04 upgrade. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can the K04 be put on and run with no changes??? I know a software upgrade and fpr upgrade are recomended.

Now as for modding / further tuning, could I not just upgrade the MAF, fpr, diode mod, and fmic and be fine? In theory couldn't this work just as well? I'm trying to keep cost down but still have a reliable upgrade, not being cheap just economical. Please constructive criticism.

ya the k04 is a direct replacment to the stock k03, you can run it on the stock manifold but a fmic and exhuast system and new larger injectors (depending on programmin and year) would be nice
but ya if u want u can go with the basic k04 and programming

now if I were to piece together my own k04 setup, what injectors would be best to use with say... a 5bar fpr, fmic, and K04?

you have it wrong. thesoftware is what calls for the injectors. if you want to run just the ko4 turbo on ko3 software then you don't need to change anything. if you want to run it on a more aggressive tune, then whichever program you run will have a specific injector for you to run.

but to be able to help you out more, what year are you?

I'm a 2000, I guess I was wondering what all I could do to utilize more power out of the K04 without buying new software because of price...

if you are going to upgrade the turbo, i would suggest you do it and have more money then just the figures you think of.. there are always unexpected issues

Money isn't an issue, I'm just seeing if there is an alternat way of doing it, like the diode mod instead of chipping the K03.
