Default Considering an A4 to compliment my BMW

So, I am coming from a BMW E46, which has been an amazing car for me, which I am going to hold on to for sure. This is my fist winter with the bimmer, and my mom is going crazy about me in the snow with RWD. I am looking for a high mileage AWD car that is pretty quick, and I came acrossed the Audi A4 2.8L Quattro. Is this car quick? How fast would it be compared to the BMW 330? I am looking in the 125k-200k mileage range, as I am a 16 year old looking to have a car to drive for like 2 months every year. So what, maybe 1k miles a year? What should I worry about with a high milage A4?

Please don't comment about my age. I have gotten enough of it with JUST a BMW lol

i can't believe you are getting a winter car, that just sounds retarded.

well if it were me, and my parents were wanting me to have an awd car for the winter and I was only 16, I would sell the BMW, get a nice, low mileage a4 and put the money into some great mods to make it both fast for all year driving, and good for winter as well. but thats just me.

My question is why do you need a quick car to drive in the snow? I mean unless you suddenly need to out run an avalanche.

[sm=funnypostabove.gif] Sell the BMW. But if you want a second car go with a 1.8 and chip you will be happy.

Don't bother getting a winter car. Get some new rims with GOOD snow tires and you'll be fine in winter

'K, best post I've read on any board in a loooong time.

Dump the 330 (gorgeous car though), and do as theother post here recommended: get a new/low mileage A4, dump in a bit of cash with an APR Stage 1 chip, DV,intake, and perhaps exhaust, and you'll have a car that outruns the 330 - and not JUST in the snow! <chuckle>

Incidentally, I just picked up a 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro this week - and it came down to the wire between it and anew2007328i. The 328 outranthe A4 in a straight line, but I live in Winnipeg (Canada, lots of snow), andthe A4 was afar better choice for the same reasons you are considering one. PLUS, the A4 came with FAR more equipment than the Bimmer - bluetooth, adaptive headlights, ipod interface in glove box, etc - that the bimmer would have needed $2000 or more to equal. And for just about $600 - $750, the A4 can be stealthily modded to equal the 328's performance.

Damm I wish I had your money and lived there lol. Glad that you went with the A4. In time you will fall in love with the A4 and the BMW will be a thing of the past. It will treat you very good as long as she likes the way you treat hear. BMW and Audi always seem to be pitted against each other in reviews but you'll see the A4 over time will win hands down.
