Default Convert 90bhp to 110bhp 1.9 TDI??

Hi,

I was just looking over a spares site for my Audi (I need a new battery) and saw that they sell Diesel Digital Chips for 90bhp and 110bhp 1.9 TDI A4s.

I currently have a 90bhp TDI A4 and was wondering if I got the 110bhp chip if it would make the car perform like a 110bhp or if there are other differences in the engine?

The chips are over £300, so they aren't cheap, but I suspect that the answer to my question is no.

Just curious though as it would be worth the £300 if so.

Thanks

I found something similar on a UK website that put it up to 120BHP for £550, but wasn't sure if it was worth spending that much on the car just to get the extra power.

Would it make much of a difference?

Would this be any good?

Would it do the same job as the chip?

I notice it's at least half the price of the chips and claims to improve performance up to 25%.

The bonus is it's plug and play, not cutting wires etc. just plug it in to your engine, which is very tempting to me as I am not the best as DIY, especially on cars!

Anyone used one of these or know if they are worth buying or not?

Will it make my 90bhp perform like a 110bhp???

First of all the chip is going to make big difference. You are going to feel the acceleration and the speed.

Second I wouldnt deal with this plug and play stuff because they are not realiable and they can never give you the power that the chip can. Plus the price is way to low and it might be just a scam. If you go to the shop to get the chip installed they are going to do everything and MAKE SURE IT RUNS FINE.

Dahlback tunes your car really nice and it is worth the money. Plus the installation is included.

I know the company selling the plug and play devices are genuine, but you could be right about them not being up to much.

I know the chip and full installation will be better, but it's a lot of money.

I will have a save and a think.

www.auto-amd.com are good as are http://www.vanaaken.com/

It's pretty much all in the chip mate, the 90bhp is a shocking car to drive, once you have it chipped you'll wonder why you didn't before. Just make sure the engine is in good condition before hand ie no vacuum leaks and fresh oil and the difference will be amazing.

I wouldn't say the 90bhp is shocking, it's a very nice car with all it's extras (full electrics, climate control etc.) and it's not sluggish, just not as quick as a performance type car.

I would like to add some extra performance at some point possibley, but is adding a chip all I need to do?

Are there no other differences in the engines or work required?

Don't get me wrong i'm not just slating the 90bhp model, I've driven the 90 and the 110 and the difference between the two is vast.

The 90 feels like it's held back all the time while the 110 runs more turbo boost and feels much more lively, you can actually keep with other cars off the lights.

I don't know the exact differences between the two engines but it is very likely that it's just a difference in ECU software.
