Default Coolant

Hi, everyone.
I have an A4 Quattro 2.0 / 1997 and the coolant level is a little low. I would like to fill it up but I don't know how I can do that.

My questions:
What type of fluid do I have to buy? I have check this forum and must people talk about a G12 fluid (or G12 plus), but somebody told me something about a Pentosin anti-phosphate hi-performance antifreeze fluid. So, which one should I use and where can I buy it?

If each bottle is 1.5 liters, how many should I buy?

Is this a ready to use product or should I combine it 50/50 with water as I have heard?

And one final silly question: what is the color of the fluid? I ask because I was told Pentosin is a blue fluid and that G12 is a purple/pink fluid.

Thanks you all for your help.

Get the pink G12 coolant, dealership should have it. Yes you should do atleast a 50/50 mix with water, and if you don't know what kind of coolant is in your ride now might as well flush the system before adding the G12.

You need to mix distilled water with the G12. G12 is straight coolant. Most people do a 50/50 mix. I run 75% distilled water and 25% G12. Water has better cooling properties over G12. So when it's super hot water itself will cool better than G12. You really only need to put enough coolant in to lubricate your parts......ie water pump, seals, etc... and obviously enough where it won't freeze. Like if you live in a cold area. I live in Northern Colorado and have never had a problem with freezing running the mix % I am. I have even had another B6 buddy run 90% water and 10% G12 in Tahoe when it was ~10deg outside. No problem freezing. Although I would never recommend going this low myself.
