Coolant?
Well crap, if your filling up the coolant every week, and its under warranty, its a no brainer!
Tell them to find out whats wrong and fix it or your gonna drive the thing through the front window of the dealership!

oh yeah, i have another year or 25k to go under warranty, ill make sure they find it or ill just run the engine on low coolant until i overheat and break something a little more significant. im sure they'd rather replace something linked to my coolant system rather than dropping in a new power plant. im sure you guys feel my pain, i love my audi, but why do i have to deal with these bs little problems. btw acetrebo, i don't know if your aware of this but thats how America's tire company wants returns, at least according to there commercial with the old lady throwing her tires through the window. i think i should of gone with ryan @ commonwealth, lisa is a bit of a bean counter, and wants me to pay my deductables a little too often i think. thanks for your input guys.
I recently had a coolant leak on a 2005 A4 1.8. They ended up replacing a part that was mentioned on a service bulletin. It did take 2 trips to the dealership before they figured it out, and since it has been raining since, I cant be sure it is not leaking now. I definitiely had a stream of fluid under the car.
it is a simple test to indicate a leak. they put a special cap inplace of the stock one and pressureize the system. any measureable drop in pressure over a duration indicates a leak.
tell them how much fluid you have been adding and be adament about doing a leakdown test.

My father's Land Rover had the same problem before. The coolant disappeared (completely gone) in 5 - 7 days. There was no indication of any leak. He took it back to the dealer several times and even left the car there for days for techs to test drive. First the dealer said the hose had a bubble and replaced the hose; but it didn't fix the problem. He brought the car back for the second time and the dealer said something wrong with the reservoir and replaced it. It still didn't fix the problem so he brought the car back for the third time and the dealer said something wrong with the headgasket. Needless to say, it still didn't fix the problem. We brought the car back several times afterwards and funny thing was the dealer then said it was normal for Land Rover. Come on... what kind of car needs to top off coolant from nearly empty every week?! Also, my wife drives a Rover and doesn't have this issue.
Since the dealer couldn't find the problem and pretty much refused to fix it anymore, and clearly the problem still exist, we called a lemon law lawyer to fight for us. It ended up Land Rover replaced the engine for us and also paid additional $5K to my dad. The problem now is gone.
My point is... it could be something easy to fix but may also be something complicate. If you still have warrenty, bitch until they fix it and make sure they fix it right.

Well as of now i still don't have my car back, i guess they're going to have to replace the coolant tank, the coolant flange, a few lines, basically the entire coolant system. They said they encountered some hang ups removing my aftermarket intake, i thought these were trained audi technicians, i know the intake isn't that complex. so anyways, ill give a full update on all the fun parts that audi had to replace to correct this, until then ill be putt, putting around in my awesome jetta courtesy vehicle, (sorry to all the male jetta owners, but i feel kinda femine driving that thing, i want my A4 back!)
well they ended up replacing 2 seals, added coolant, replaced coolant hose and flange however all this was warranty work for me so i ended up with $50 out of pocket, but if you dont have a warranty the DIY section on audizine has instructions on how to replace the coolant flange, i guess this is a common cause of coolant leak. so i gave my sweet femine loaner jetta back and couldnt be happier in my Audi again. btw, 60k service, $270.00, for an oil change and pollen filter replacement, note to self dont take your car to audi for general fluid servicing.
