My car is loud. Meaning I hear the tranny or diff or seomthing it whines very loudly...anyone else have this problem or is this normal for everyone? Its annyoing I can even hear it over the radio asometimes

 

At what speeds/driving conditions does this happen - is it all the time or only at high speeds. little more info please

 

I drove a quattro automatic when I was looking to buy one of these.

It seemed very loud to me, especially during decelleration.

I did not buy it. I asked around at the time, and most responses said that the noise was not normal. It should be fairly quiet.

My Quattro manual is not noisy at all. Seems very quiet.

 

mines a manual tranny...hm its very loud under decel. I guess Ill call audi today thanks.

 

not normal, I have a quattro and my car just purrs. With the radio on I can barely hear the car but I do blast the radio. With no radio and windows down everything sounds normal, no whining at all, unless my car is the one acting weird I would say get it checked out. I do notice that in tiptronic you do hear a little whine but but not very loud

 

Our fans are very loud.. Thats about it.

yeah when I first start the car up the fan is very loud after about 2 minutes I can't even hear it, as a matter of fact you can barely tell the car is on. It gets loud again if I turn on the ac or heat and then it goes away again.

 

Yes, our fans are definately loud. But my car doesn't make any whine in Tip, or just normal driving.... I'd say that car probably needs a transmission, or differential service, badly... I'd shy away from it if I were you.
