Default coolant leak

Hi,

I've got a water coolant leak, looks like aroundwhat I'd call the'drain plug' which I think is attached/near the radiatior. Any idea on what need to do to fix it?

I'm not sure if common problem, but its a real slow leak it just drips out around front of engine bay and have to top the water up occasionally.

thanks

I am not familiar with 'around the drain plug'.

A lot of leaks are simply hoses leaking in which case buying a $20 hose is all you need to do.

If its a leak actually on the radiator itself, its a little tougher. Some leaks can't be fixed and you need to replace the whole radiator. If you are not opposed to a little rigging, I have used JB WELD or similar to 'temporarily' fix leaks on the radiator of other cars. JB WELD is a putty you mix together that will heat up as you mix them and then later harden. I have put this on small leaks and they have held for years.

If you can take a picture of the area that is leaking, you will get some better answers on what you can do to fix it.

you mean that drain plug to the bottom right (facing the car) on the radiator? Can't remember if its plastic or rubber, just retighten or replace it.

yeah Trey25 pretty sure that's it, so it can be replaced, maybe without pulling out whole radiator? I tried tightening it but still leaks, I could try tightening more. The previous owner might have over tightened it hence now leaking.

its just a rubber seal and a simple repair no need to take the radiator out
