I checked my oil today, and while out there noticed my coolant is below the minimum. i remeber it being just under the full mark a when it was about 0 outside. its like -15, would temperature affect my coolant level by anychance? also, theres an extremly loud ticking able to hear it while in the car with the windows down at idle. sounds coming from the top of engine (valve area).

Cold temps wont make the level drop like that. You have a leak. The ticking is probably lifters. I wouldnt worry too much about that on a cold engine as oil turns to molasas at those temps.

 

so now i have a boost and coolant leak,fun day tomorrow atleast it will be a high of -5 *sigh*
I wish i had a nice heated garage
