Couple codes and questions for the techs
Pulled these just now. 17549, 17532, 17535 According to the bentley manual they're all related to a short or bad ground in the MAF circuit. I cleared them a few days ago but they came back. The mpg average has steadily decreased so I ran some resistance and voltage tests on all O2 sensors which showed that the car is running pig rich even at idle. At first I thought the precat sensors were fouled, 130k on the clock, but now I'm thinking it may be the MAF. I don't have a VAG so I can't tell for sure. Does anyone know how to test the MAF with a multimeter? Any thought or comments would be great, thanks.
BTW with a high mileage V6, leadfoot, and addition of a "CAI" with K&N filter I wasn't expecting great fuel efficiency to beging with. But its been bad long before I put on the intake. A vacuum leak may be a possibility but I checked for that when testing the O2 sensors, and it still runs rich...****, sorry about the essay.

I changed the ECT less than nine months ago, blue top. Still, I don't see how the ECU factors in engine temp into the fuel/air ratio. Anyone care to explain?
the ect senses, controls and gives u a readout on ur dash of the temp as u prolyl already kno. if ur car is running rich as u said, the ect may be sensing that the engine is not up to normal operating temp so it'll give more gas to make the car run harder and warm the car up more. i got that from avant80@2.6
