Default A couple of Q's for the gurus!

Hello,

I am back to torment you with questions...

My air filter looks like a lump of carbon atm and it would be wise to change it. I have heard really good things about k&n panel filter replacements...and it is my first choice...however its price ~60EUR leaves a bit to be desired...upon looking I found alternatives...

http://cgi.ebay.de/Sportluftfilter-r...QQcmdZViewItem

The company is raid, not that it is important. I realize that the factory airbox is about as good as it gets as far as intake in concerend, and that the cone filter variants generally increase intake temps....however it is half the price.

I am wondering whether the "upgrade" to a cone filter would decrease my performance, (I plan on making a complete heat shield, with flowing air inlets to give optimum temp to the filter), or should I just buck up and buy the k&n panel??? and in the DIY section of the forum I noticed the dude installing his cone filter on a 1.8t had to install also a small filter, is this 1.8t specific?

My second question focuses more on the cosmetic aspect of the interior. My car does not have an armrest [:@], and I have found one on ebay.de...

http://cgi.ebay.de/AUDI-A4-B5-94-01-...ayphotohosting

It seems like a nice armrest, however I want to know whether or not it will fit into my b5 (or is it universal)...cause where the armrest is supposed to mount, i have this purple port looking thing, and I wanna be sre it will fit.

Thanks
brta

it won't affect performance either way, just make sure the filter is non-oiled. and the small filter is for the secondary air system. i dont know if 2.8's had that and not all 1.8T have it either. if you do have it you will need the small filter which you can get it at any auto parts store.
