I plan on buying a 2001 1.8t a4 in the next 2 months or so
i want to upgrade the the turbo, and add a few mods too it
and maybe getting it pushing out about 18-20psi
i know its going to take a bit of money and a lot of rebuilding the engine(or so ive heard)
but i was just wondering what exactly will need to get done and what some good companys are for the parts[/align]
PSI is irrelevant without knowing how many CFM u wanna push. You can run a turbo the size of your head at 5 PSI and put out 350 or a GTSR at 25 PSI. IT's all in how u run your set up. So what turbo you plan on running?

well depending how much whp i want in the end(im still deciding based on prices)
ethier upgrade to the k04 or maybe go with apr stage 3

I've had all 4 of my coil packs go out... They all died about 4 - 6 months apart from one another ... I've been chipped from 0 miles and have been modding since, When i got the K04 upgrade then it killed the other 2 coil packs

you only need to replace the packs if they die.
Where do you get your preventive maintence info from? Change em 2 aftermarket b4 they do,before your stranded on the side of the road, before the $100 tow fee,$300 shop charge and 2 days of carless agravation. It is fairly common for a chip alone 2 blow orginal coilpacks within a few weeks.
Seriously dude, you EVER have any idea what your talking about? Just remember that you started the **** and im going to finish it. ALL COILPACKS ARE STOCK, THERE ARE NO AFTERMARKET PACKS!!! They are made my 2 brands, bremi (push down) and hitachi (bolt down). Both are stock in differnt years and the hitachi are a little more reliable since they cant pop up like the bremi packs (due to improper torquing of the plugs). Please stop trying to attack what i say with nonsense BS and i have to make you look bad over and over and over again!

and theres been 3 or 4 posts in the last week alone of cars mysteriously dyin after bein chipped and the coil packs bein the culprit. A couple more in other car types on this forum. High mileage coils are just beggin 4 trouble.
And EVERY single person didnt gap the plugs down to .028 from .032 and they have constant misfires in higher rpms and go strait for the packs since they are known to fail easy. If you ever read the threads instead of post usless **** you would know these things.

Please mods, ban this idiot. Ill take 3 kemps over him anyday.

Your not going to spew smoke do to bad coilpack or 2. You can search all you like, but your probably finding useless post like yours and taking it as facts.

so when i upgrade the turbo i will need a turbo-back exhaust? correct?
and i was reading in the newbie guide about a test pipe but i cant do that leggaly if i live in a place with emissions tests?
well i live in alberta canada and i dont think i can put a test pipe
so i was wondering which route to go and which company would offer a good turb-back
i looked on borla's website but i only saw cat-back,
