I swapped coilpacks this mornign and heard the wires cracking. I took a closer look at them and a have a cracked otuer casing where you can see the individual wire insulation. One actauly showeda bit of bare wire. I put some electrical tape around it as a patch but I'm wondering - what does it take to replace all the wires/wiring harness? Yes, I mean from the connector that plugs into the coilpack all the way back. Thanks.

 

Its part of the engine wiring harness, so un-less you wanna spend 2 grand for a new harness then just tape that turd up. You can buy the orange covering seperately but you have to use the audi special tools to pin out each wire label them, set the wires aside, then install the new covering and pin all the wires back into the connectors. Its a major and un wanted PITA.
