hmm, this part is faulty but it doesn't throw a code? That would seem strange to me....
No way to check this before throwing more money at parts trying to guess what's wrong?

Figures there isn't a fuse next to the ECM, audi changes the damn design every fvckin year!!!![:@]
The crank sensor should take care of the problem, assuming you did pull off the fuel line to the motor and cranked it to see if fuel was coming out.
So what kind of signal will a crank sensor give you? Square wave, right? I would think a logic probe would be able to tell you if you have any signal from it. I'm not tech certified, but I've been around cars a while. I've tested many crank sensors in other cars with a simple logic probe, never had any trouble doing it that way. How much was this sensor?
