Cruise...

This is my cruise control computer. Solders all look fine but there is one spot I don't understand. In this photo, the brown block is the connector. The first connections above that look like they might want to be connected but aren't. I don't know sh't about boards so this its hard for me to tell, should these be connected? Its the 5 connections parallel to the brown connector, the first closest to the connector. If these are ok the problem must be in my switch.

No, you don't need to create any new connections, the problem is just that those blobs get little cracks in them. When I took mine out, I couldn't see any cracks or anything obvious to indicate a problem so the heat gun just tightened all of those little connections right up and sealed the cracks that I couldn't see. I think probably the heat gun is the best way to go instead of having to add flux or risk toasting something with a soldering iron.

So i should try to heat gun this thing anyway. I'll give it a shot.
