Default Cruise Control Module Not behind Glove Box?

I read the post in the DIY section and searched the topic but couldn't find an answer...

My Cruise Control is not working and I am assuming it's probably the module. I went looking for it in the location behind the Glove box where is was described to be and found something different than anything pictured or described.

Let me try to describe what I saw. Above the blower motor for HVAC system was a small black module with 17 pins on it. It was a b*tch to remove but I eventually did get it out. It's failry well sealed but eventually I was able to remove the cover. It had a fairly intricate circuit board with a small relay, a couple diodes and a couple resistors on one side and some micro-electronic devices including some small chips on the other side. I have no idea if this was the CC module but it doesn't look like anything I've seen on here. The car ran fine and nothing seemed to be having any issues with it removed so I suppose it could be the CC module but I'm not sure.

Getting the thing back in was even more of a PITA than getting it out. There's a little plastic "flex clip" type of deal that holds the module in it's plus.

I tried to Google the part number and got only one response which was in German. I was able to translate it but got nothing notable from it.

I looked everywhere behind the Glove box and found nothing. Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks in advance!

I think that piece you removed is part of the power windows system. I also took mine out once(so I can appreciate the joy you experiencedwhile doing this job), I thought it had something to do with the heat/ac system. apparently not. The thread about making one touch up/down front and rear windows shows what appears to be this module, and claims it's responsible for the window controls. And besides that, I have no clue where the cruise is, good luck...

Okay, the module is actually ABOVE the glove box. Once you have it flipped down, you can see the module by poking your head under there and looking straight up. It's a smallish silver box slightly left of being centered over the glove box and on mine, the sensor attached is kind of a butterscotch color. Good luck!

Thanks Sineoe, but it's not there! It's possible that something changed from 99 to 00 I guess, but I spent a long time last night getting familiar with everything behind and above my glove box. No silver module! Just the black on that doesn't resemble the CC module at all.

Well, that might explain why your cruise control doesn't work. Good luck figuring that out.
