Hey guys, this would be my first post. I just bought an Audi a4 1998 with around 60,000 miles on it. I love the car it drives great! She is a beauty.

One problem, the cruise control is not working. I talked to the audi dealership, had it checked out, and $100 later they said that the cruise control module is toast. They could fix it $500 later.

1. I have read a lot of posts about the cruise control not working, but havent read one yet saying the module was out. Does this happen typically?

I found a listing on ebay that also said they rebuilt the Cruise Control module in a4's and other cars for $50. Here is the link:

2. Do you think this is a good idea?

3. Also, do you guys know where the cruise control module is? My guess is its behind the passenger site glove compartment (if thats the case how do you remove the glove comparment without damaging it.) I would like to remove it myself, thanks!

it's worth a try.

I'm not sure exactly where the unit is though.

 

Mine is not working either, but I have been having major issues with vacuum problems and that is part of how the cruise control works, so hopefully that will fix it.
