Hi-- I'm having problems with my cruise control for my 2001 A4 1.8T, 5 speed. Sometimes it works (sometimes means rarely), then most of the time, it doesn't set. Is there a way to fix it without going to the shop to get something like this fixed?! I'm going above the minimum speed, and I've done everything to set it, but nothing. Please help!

anytime mine didnt work i pushed it to the off side and then res. and hit the side button. Worked fine afer that

 

Yeah, I tried that... It basically decides when it wants to work, which is usuallynever.

Thanks for the response back. I have an extended warranty. I just bought my phat ride last Wednesday. I want it to be perfect (we all do). It only has 58K miles on it. Great condition.So far, I put 17" OZ 5 spoke wheels and Yokohama high performance summer tires, with 15% tint. I want to get that APR chip next. I want to get it checked out completely by Audi with the recalls and other stuff like this problem that I am noticing (squeaking when starting my whip up, missing pixels on dash console,etc.).

It could alsobe your stalk switch, which corrodes andcan be cleaned in a couple ways and/or slightly more likely, based on my research, the module. It can be other things too though.I'd do a search here and on Audizine forums whos forum search engine returns threads rather than all the posts in which, for example, someone wrote "cruise control".
