Hey guys i have a 98 A4 1.8tQ and i always used to use the cruise control for driving back and forth to and from school (220 miles). I drove home for thanksgiving on wednesday and i used cruise control the whole time on the highway getting 26 mpg at 80 mph. When i left to go back to school on sunday my cruise control wasnt working at all! I checked all the fuses and everything but they are all fine. Could the fact that i left the cruise control in the ON position for 5 days have effected it? Would that have burnt out the unit?

 

is the check engine light on i had the exact same problem my clutch sensor went bad or something and that sent the cruise control off but that would be my thought about it

 

The CEL fortunately hasnt come on
