Ok well im trying to get some idea from people on how hard it is to make a custom downpipe. My flexpipe is blown out, and I want to just got ahead and replace it with a bigger downpipe. Can i make a 2.5 inch dp, and still run it on stock cat and exhaust? and if I get a bigger cat and exhaust will it still work. I just want to get a dp for now, because im going to trade for a s4 soon....How hard is it going to be, and what is a good price range?

 

talk to your local exhaust shop for custom work… but I would get original part from junk yard, it would cost you less and u wont see much performance running on stock cat and exhaust.

Will the dowpipe fit a stock exhaust though?

 

yes it should .. it will need to be welded on ...the dp and high flow cat will bolt up nice gains and quicker turbo spool ..the dp may have to be welded on to your existing stock exhaust but a exhaust shop should do the install and it wouldnt cost very much

Well, I wouldn't worry about the custom job. Cat's use to be $6-700 for A4 until techtonics came out with theres for $295. So it's a way good deal.

 

your stock exhaust is 2, so you'd have to have a piece welded on from the downpipe to your normal piping.
