Hello again everyone

I was mugged, cowards with guns, and they took my girls keys....I went on ebay and won a uncut audi keypad for my year and model (2000 a4 1.8TQ tip)...I think I can get it cut somewhere to my valet key, which is what Im using, but how can I program it for the car?

just order the keys directly from audi, you tell them your vin number and they mail you a factory set.

 

if you order a switchblade key from audi it will be around $120. i bought mine off ebay for $15. i took the key to the dealer(only place the key can be cut) and got it cut for $45. to program the remote is simple and takes about a min or so. look up directions on here or on audi world. you could also ask the service guy to do it for ya some time they will help sometimes they wont. i dont think they will charge you for this service.

 

Only get it cut at the audi dealer? I have a guy who says he can do it...guess I shouldnt trust him.....do you have a link to the program instructions?

My dealer only charges 5 bucks to cut keys. I also bought the same thing on ebay. please do a search on how to reprogram it, it's been discussed many many many times.

 

And just a heads up on the valet key. If you have the new key cut to the valet key, you won't be able to lock or unlock the glove box or the trunk, or hatch in the case of an Avant.
