Default CVT question NOW answered!!!!!

Today I calledAPR to find out what exactly they would recommend for the '07 B7 A4 2.0T with the CVT. I was told I can only go 2 ways. 1) I can chip it, which would produce 245 hp and 290ft pounds of torque ( these are the numbers after ecu flashed). 2) you can do the standard exhaust and CAI. I asked if I could do the exhaust with the ecu flash and they highly recommended not to, due to that with the additional power the tranny would be at it's physical limit. He did say that people have done it to the B7 platform with no problems yet, just a matter of time. But again not recommended. Hope this helps some other new guys since noone can actually say yes or no.

Glad to hear that someone has actually saidthat APR would support a standard flash. Now... can anyone comment on having done it, and if so... how's your tranny holding up???

the thing is no matter wut u do to increase the hp on ur car, the tranny will prematurely wear out anyways. cars are designed the way they come because under normal circumstances, the car should last a long time.
