I bought the car with an APR chip, so that came to my mind. Any ideas?
With the APR chip make sure the plugs are gapped properly. If they are gapped too wide, the increased boost pressure can snuff the spark, causing some misfires.

if you get repeated cyl 2 only after changing plugs and coilpack, i agree with the icm people.

Yeah i just had to change my Engine Control Unit a month ago. It is also a 1998. I can almost guarantee that is the problem.

Default Misfire

I have a 2001 audi a4 1.8t that has a misfire on cylinder 2&3. I have installed new coils, injectors, plugs and no change. It's always when first starting. Can anyone help. I have noticed that people have mentioned the icm but I can find it. When I bought the car years ago the stock air box had been removed so I can not find it.
help please
