Dealer has no idea what's wrong!!!!
I just bought a 2001Audi A4 1.8T 61K about 4 weeks ago.
Love it!!! If I would ever have it.
I took it back to the dealer the first time because thelow beamswere way too low - they went about 2ft in front of the vehicle. They said they fixed the problem ... I think this isthe fourth time now - anyideas?
The second problem is 2 of the spark plug coils went - returned the car. Three days later another coil went because they were too lazy to fix all at the same time. Now I haven't had my car for over a week and they are saying that most likely it wasn't the coils in the first place??? They think that the car is running too cold and I might need a thermostat sensor!?!?!
Its still under warrenty so I'm not paying for all this - but I was hoping to give the dealer a little insight on how to fix this car - since they have no idea!!!!!!!!!!!

Temperature sensor is a 10 dollar part. The coil packs are cheap and easy fixes.
If your car has the xenons then it may be that the automatic headlight levelers need adjustment with a vagcom. Is this an audi dealer or a non-audi dealer who is working on your car?

Coil packs tend to go within a short time of each other. The mechanic should have told you this when fixing it the first time before the others died. I had one fail about a month ago and then 2 weeks later, another. If you have xeons, like dave said, it may need adjusted though vag com or whatever diagnostic system they use. Neither one is a huge deal and be thankful you have a warranty.I dont know why they would think you need a new temp sensor unless there is a fault code stored in your ecu for it. A bad temp sensor isnt going to cause coil packs to die or affect your headlight output/alignment.
if you're not paying for it, have them take care of EVERYTHING now while its still under warranty! Sorry bout the bad luck, but as he (above me) said, the temp sensor is not directly linked to either the coil packs or headlamps (<---are they on crack?!?). If they have legitimate reasoning to believe its faulty, have them replace it now, and hopefully they do it properly, and change the coolant during the process!
