Another cross thread with AZ:

While debading my car the other day, I got a little overzealous and rubbed the cloth against the 3M tape to get it off. I had the car washed yesterday and there are too faint but noticeable spots where I rubbed the tape off, where it looks like the paint has worn a little bit.

Will some polish fix it up? It isn't really noticeable unless you're looking for it, but it's there and that's enough to **** me off. It's also a good reminder of my lack of patience, which also does not make me happy.

Sorry I don't have any pictures, but I'm at work.

i had the same problem with the right side of my debadging job. got impatient. but i got the car waxed and its not even noticible and im pretty OCD when it comes to my car. try that, if that doesnt fix your problem try to buff it out with compound, should work

it'll go away if its just residue. a couple washes/waxes will take care of it.

I slapped some polish on her and then rubbed it out when I got home from work tonight. It took four or five coats, but she looks great now.
