Default Did I Make a Big Mistake?

so i just bought an Automatic FWD 03 A4 1.8T with 95k miles as a gift from me to me for my birthday. i bought it because the service records were outstanding (new turbo, tires, axle assembly, timing belt, some ignition coils all done between 83k and 90k)

when i test drove it i felt a jerk at low RPM and thought it might be turbo lag since i read about the 1.8T having a bad lag. Upon reading more after purchasing im finding out this might be the CVT tranny going bad? possibly coils/plugs or fuel injectors/pump/filter.. it makes a quick jerk at low RPM, seems to be any time between 1st and 3rd gear (they change so fast its hard to tell). This is only really happening when I start from a stop. Occasionally feel it on a cruise. So i drove it around monitoring the RPM closely, went very slowly (not even 10mph) and it seemed to make the jerk around 1200RPM. Then i would drive it normal traffic speed (35-45MPH) and it would occur from 1600-2000RPM around the time the gear shifts. Then i pushed the accelerator to 3/4 and the RPMs would shoot to about 3200 and idle until i pushed farther and then the turbo would kick in better; but i didnt feel the jerk when doing this. Now here's the tricky part - I switched it into tiptronic and drove slowly to 3000RPM in 1st gear from a dead stop a few times, each time i felt the jerk around 1600-2000RPM depending on how hard i was accelerating - but i wasnt shifting so i figured this couldnt be a transmission problem. Keep in mind that this jerk didnt occur when downshifting or slowing to a stop, only after a start. And i only feel it jerk one time each time, it isnt a rumble feel or a stutter, just a very brief jerk.

the best way i can describe it is the car will accelerate forward normally then briefly kick at me for not even a second and then continues to accelerate and run smooth after that. Say i was making a left at an intersection, i would pull forward fine but by the time i started turning left, id feel the quick jerk/kick/lag for a sec but the RPM continues to rise at a normal pace.

Everything in the car seems stable, it runs fine, starts immediately, drives perfect. Except for this little jerk and it gets annoying because I drive in a high traffic area with constant stop/start and that is when it occurs as it seems. If its the CVT im just gonna sell the car immediately.

first thought is that if you have the tiptronic then you don't have a CVT transmision.

Have you checked the trans fluid at all? Check the maintenance records for anything trans related. I have a manual trans so I'm not much help as to what an audi automatic trans acts like.

I know there is a chip for the tiptronic trans to be able to put more horsepower through it after tuning the engine. Maybe previous owner pulled back some performance parts and now tranny not sure what to do.

One of the experts will chime in soon. Hope I gave you some other options to consider at least.
