Default diode mode

i’m new here, first of all very and very helpful forum.
just about last week i did diode mode on my 2000 A4t (replaced my n75 with this b/c), had it at 10 psi for a day, next few days i changed it to about 15-16, it was king of jumpy, but wasn’t so bad for day or 2 and got worst, every time i accelerate harder then normal, it “chocks” and CEL flashed few times, funny thing is, i couldn’t pull any codes using this tool. i was easy on it for a while and then last week when i did my timing belt I checked/cleaned my dv (spring wasn’t bad, it hold pressure and opens when vacuum applied), changed vacuum lines and replaced coils, i even washed and checked pressure on my tires by myself, none of this helped. so i went back to my n75, 8-9psi [:'(] , choking didn’t go away, need some pro. help…

PS: I think my car hates me for being cheap on her, dont want to spend $400 for a chip, i got diode for free, paid only $25 for my (new) boost gauge and $20 for b/c and i'm in love with S4.

What diode did you use? Also you need to keep the boost at or above 11psi.If you have a 4.3v diode in, anything lower than 11psi and the ecu will have a fit. Just get a differnt mbc or borrow someones and see what happens.

Also did you regap your plugs to .028 from .032? That should help also.

i used 4.3v diode, i think my mbc is ok, i was able to adjust my boost, and what do u mean regap your plugs, how do u do this?
isnt better to get some kind of performance spark instead of adjusting yours?
thank of the info

i haven’t check, but i can bet most of the new ppl who just came in don’t do t/b or even diode mode, most of them ask questions like how do u check your tire pressure or how do i install 30+HP chip i got on eBay for my 3.0 a4

no, they like to ask which BOV to install and which chip is the fastest.

gapping the plugs is just adjusting the gap that the spark jumps. you use a feeler gauge (thats what I've always called them anyway), it looks like a Chinese fan with metal blades, each blade with a different thickness, you just find the one you need, or a combination of a few, and fit it into the gap. tap the finger on the end of the plug so that it's touching the blades, then slide the blade out, all done.

timing belt was a bitch huh? did mine in April.
welcome to the forums.

What did you do to add fuel? Cuz, you can't add boost with out adding more fuel! My guess is that's why the you get the flashing CEL, your detonating the motor!
