If that was the case, then chip tuners would not mess with the fuel maps. If you change the air going into the engine, you need to change the amount of fuel going into the engine.

There is a little more to it then that. If you crank up the boost, you NEED to add fuel, as you have exceeded the stock ECU adaptations.

You still within the ecu's capabilities. I run 20psi and never had to touch my fuel trims. Its when you mess with the MAF and change its reading you need to add more fuel

You don't have any fuel related goodies, like a FPR? We can disagree on this, but when you mess with one setting you need to adjust the other setting to match. Not saying you car will run with out it, but it will run better with it.

Since he is getting the flashing cel, my option would be to add some fuel.

I still have stock fueling running the stock 3bar fpr. I agree that adjusting it is better for optimum gains, but isnt neccisary to run safely. The flashing lights should be due to misfires from his plugs not being gapped correctly. Until he gaps them to .028, i dont think he has to worry about fuel just yet.

Ok, I can see that. My point is, before he cranked up the boost, the car ran fine. Now that it's running much higher boost, he is having fuel related problems. While having the proper gap will help, I believe he still needs more fuel up top, to not only run safely, but to not get detonation.

Guys, detonation is one of the fastest ways to blow up a motor.

The flashing cel is from the missifres, which is caused by...... THATS RIGHT, him blowing out the spark in his incorrectlygapped plugs. For all we know, he could of not gapped them when they were installed and at .035 or bigger. Said it before and ill say it again.... Fuel is in check and fine to run at 18psi without any changes and his problem is the gap on his plugs. If you wish, you can run logs and adjust it as needed.
