Default dirty engine...

I am in the process of changing my timing belt, water pump and all that fun stuff. I am noticing that my engine is pretty dirty. basically dust build up some grease and such. Is there a reason that I shouldnt take a hose and cloth to all that just to get all the dirt off of everything as I am putting it all back together??

Do not power wash an engine. You will spray high pressure water into all sorts of electrical connections.. Use a degreaser or have the engine steam cleaned.

you can use different nozzles on a pressure washer that will help adjust the power. but steam cleaning does seem like a good idea too
