Just wondering if anyone knew what was involved with changing out the serpentine belts on a 99.5 1.8t......also what belts do i need and what tools are involved?

i've never done one on an audi in my shop, but i did it on a chrysler minivan. All it took was a ratchet with the right socket, and patience....it can be a bitch to get back on and riding flush with the pulleys. If you do it, while your down there, its always good to check out ur pulleys and make sure they look good.

I think its possible to do it with the bumper on... But you should take it off and replace timing belt and everything else you can while your at it. Takes about 6 hours total if your doing it for the first time.
