DIY clear corner?
I’m thinking about the DIY clear corner mod this week, but after reading a few post and other forums it seems like there will be some imperfections in doing the job (for example a small scratch on the lens or chrome part from drilling). Even though some guys seemed to be satisfied with their work, I did not see any close up pics of the finished product. I guess my questions are: has anyone attempted this mod and has pics? And if I’m really careful/patient, is it worth trying? I definitely don’t want to f@#$ up my unit, and I don’t have the cream right now to buy e codes.
i did the DIY clear corner. It's not hard, took me about 30 mins for both, it can definetely look awesome, but it can also look pretty trashy. It just depends on how much time you put into it and how careful you are. My suggestions are to follow the instructions step by step, and find the longest/skinniest pair of wire cutters you can (to cut up the yellow insert) and don't force anything, if the insert won't go to where you need it, just shake it gently till it is in a usable position. When peoples chrome starts getting scratched is when they start moving the insert w/ pliars and it scratches ****. just take your time and be precise.

nah sorry no pics, my car is currently in the middle of a turbo crisis. but you should be fine, at worst you might make 1 or 2 small scratches on the reflectors when you're taking the insert out, but it won't be anything too noticeable. As long as you seal the holes well (to prevent condensation) and don't drill through the reflectors (goes w/ taking ur time) you'll be fine and they'll look great.
