Default DIY KEY PROGRAMMING works!!!

Hey guys, well today I pull into the parking lot and go to the store come back car is dead, wont start, pop the hood the negative was loose and guess what the remote keys dont work either, I come home and after a 45 minute search on here get the proper instructions on how to do it yourself, so to save you the search time here is how to actually do it:

You needboth of your switchblade keys to re-program them, you can programup to fiveswitchblade keys:
[ol][*]Take the key you do not want to program (if it already works) and put it in the ignition. Turn it one click forward.[*]Close and lock the drivers door with the second key with the window down (you can also do thisfrom the inside of your car).[*]On the second key (the one in the drivers door) press the 'UNLOCK' button ONCE only, the lights will flash on the car, but the doors will remain locked[*]With the second key still in the drivers door, unlock then lock the door again.[*]Pull the key from the slot and also take out the key out of your ignitionand than test the remote functions.[*]Repeat for second key fob / switchblade / key whatever you want to call it !!! Enjoy!! This worked on my 04 a4 1.8t !![/ol]
You might end up doing it a few times to get the hang of the procedure so its all a smooth one step type of thing and the comp will learn it! NOTICE if you are too slow / too fast this will not work!!

I've programmed both of my keys. It's different on a B5 though.

That procedure did not work for me at all on my 03 V6. I have only one working switchblade key since f@$king carmax gave me a non-Audi (i.e. non working) valet key copy. So when the battery died in my remote I thought I was SOL. I searched and found a REALLY simple pairing solution. Just get in car, hold the unlock button, stick the key in the ignition while still holding the unlock button, turn it to the "ON" position for about 2-3 secs, turn it off again, take out the key and let go of the unlock button. Thats it. Lights blinked and the remote worked. Becuase of this, I figured that the instructions you used were for a B5, guess not, maybe I did it wrong, or maybe it didn't work because of my "fake" key.
