As suggested, I sent in the diy that wrote up for doing the A8 TT carrier upgrade. Emailed it to jestnomen. No reply. Emailed amanda, no reply. Was it just a waste of my time?

A8 rotors bolt right on to our A4's, well, B5's at least i know for sure, and then the TT caliper cariers bol right on too and make it so that our stock calipers sit the right distance away and such, its basically a bolt on cheap big brake upgrade

Yep, sold as a kit from ECS - $285 with vented rotors, $350 with Powerstop slotted/drilled/vented rotors, last time I checked. Hard to beat for the price.

I needed pads and rotors, so I figured I'd throw a few extra bucks at them and go for a mild improvement. They've been on for a few weeks and I do think they are an improved version of stock. I still have tiny little 16's so I needed something that would fit. All the other "big brake" kits need 17's or bigger.

Stock brakes are embarrassing. Any brakes that can clear 15" wheels are embarrassing.
Patiently awaiting write-up.
