Default Door strips

Hello,
I'm new to this forum and searched for the answer to my question, but I couldn't find it anywhere. I have a 2003 A4 and need to know how to remove the exterior door trim strips (the ones that protect from impacts). Do they unscrew from inside the door, pop off, glued on, etc? Someone scraped white paint all over my black door strips! Also, if anyone knows part numbers and prices that would be a great help!
Thanks!

I need to know which side of the car you are talking about and which door. They come only primed, not painted.

Drivers door - part number = 8e0853953 , $36.49 from Impexfab.com

here's the full parts breakdown, you can see for yourself the part numbers from the diagram. I think it may be attatched with 3M type double sided tape? Not sure though.

You might try rubbing it with polishing compound, or GS27.
