Audi is not going to even blink at you. The issue is non-safety related. Rubber that is exposed the the elements tends to become brittle over time. I'm guessing you are wasting your time with this one.

as for the rubber becomming brittle... its not the rubber thats failing, its the fact that audi used raw steel to back them... and this trim is in no way sealed against the elements... so steel + moisture + air = rust. rust = bad. this is clearly a defect.

thats not a bad idea eck.. ima have to tell the body shop to just remove em i dont wanna deal with that crappy trim and plus i think the trim that goes on the door itself is goin bye bye

Well if I apply your logic then: roads + driving + tires = worn tires. The only way Audi is going to fix that is if the rust is extended to the body and your paint is bubbling.

You're clearly applying my "logic" where it doesnt apply... there is no alternative to tires... where if audi had of used stainless steel, or aluminum, the trim would last.

Are you defending audi's choice, in using raw steel on a part that is in no way shielded from moisture? And I know for a fact, that audi has replaced MANY peoples trim on their cars -- so your "The only way Audi is going to fix that is if the rust is extended to the body and your paint is bubbling." is just plain wrong...

the excuse they have chosen in denying me, is that my car was not fully maintained at an audi dealership. Any of you pay 100 bucks an oil change at audi? I didnt think so... so now, are you going to suggest that their excuse has any merit? (other than the fact that with 2 oil changes, they'd have made enough money off of me, to replace the trim)
