DOOR TRIM PETITION!
If the car is under warranty then yes they should fix it for free. If it is not, then all of those fixed trims are a good will measure by Audi. You are expecting something you are not due. I think Audi SHOULD step up and fix it, but i don't think they HAVE to do it for you. Audi only has to design things to last the duration of the warranty, after that it's on your bill (sans safety issues/recalls).
Oh I'm well aware that they dont HAVE to fix it, but, like you said, it is an act of good will... these acts should not be extended to fluke problems -- but this is a defect, and audi is aware of it.
The thing that really gets me, is that this was happening while the previous owner owned it, WHILE it was still under warranty... And when I first bought it, I had like 3 weeks and 2000 km of warranty, and never thought to go after my door trim. So for me, this is an especially big **** off.
